FOR CHILLY OR COLD WEATHER (ABOVE 7°C) You can opt for a micro-polar fleece: a very fine polar fleece which has the advantage of being lighter and more compact. FOR VERY COLD WEATHER (BELOW 7°C) We recommend a polar fleece in a brushed fabric (in other words, with large loops or long fibres on the inside or outside. This type of fabric helps capture more air, which is the best insulator, providing better protection from the cold. WEIGHT When Hiking outdoors in the Nature or mountains, you do not want a heavy backpack. Choose a Lightweight Fleece, which gives you warmth at lower temperatures. An important prerequisite for hiking up a mountain is weight and comfort, (build on this, that least weight max warmth is key) MOBILITY Half Zip or Full Zip? depends on how you are layering the fleece. If the fleece is an external layer, you would want a full zip with pockets for easy access POCKETS Zipped pockets to carry your phone, a snack bar? or none as its an internal layer.FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT Stretch Fabric which does not restrict your arms shoulder and upper body movement. Hiking in changing terrains can test you with movement for accessibility. BREATHABILITY Your Fleece needs to be efficient in transferring Warmth inside and moisture outside. this leads to better warmth retention and odour control. When Hiking you are physically exerting yourself, this added with the warmth provided by the fleece can lead to perspiration. The breathability factor in the fleece helps to circulate the moisture. Good to know: Some of our polar fleeces are woven with elastane thread, which gives them greater elasticity so you can enjoy greater freedom of movement. You can identify these garments by looking for the "Freedom of movement" descriptor, listed under product benefits

Warm, Breathable, Compact, Lightweight and Freedom of Movement. Having the right Fleece is essential to stay warm and hike comfortably in the mountains. 1 The Intensity of Your Experience
During intense exercise, you sweat more. It's important to choose a breathable fleece so you don't have to wear damp clothing. The breathability of a fabric is its ability to wick away moisture produced by perspiration. As well as being made of a breathable material, your polar fleece may be fitted with zips so you can control the ventilation depending on your level of exercise: half chest zip, full zip, side zips under armpits etc.During a less intense effort, we warm up slower and sweat less. Breathability is therefore a less important criterion. We will therefore choose a polar fleece with a good supply of heat.2 The Outside Temperature
The second criterion to take into account is the outside temperature. Depending on the weather, you will need the polar fleece to be colder or hotter.
