To be used in competitions, a ball must first be tested and approved by the "Royal and Ancient Golf Club of Saint Andrews". This is the institution that defines and applies the rules of the sport of golf. To be homologated, the ball must not weigh more than 45.93g, and its diameter must be at least 42.67mm. ‍

Why are there Dimples on golf balls

All golf balls have dimples on their outer layer. They help to improve the ball's range so that it travels further through the air. Today's golf balls have between 350 and 500 dimples, and their number impacts the way the ball behaves. The more dimples there are, the further the ball travels. But effects such as spin (the movement from the front to the rear that slows the ball down when it touches the ground) will be reduced. The fewer dimples there are, the greater the effects, but the shorter the distance. ‍

Several layers

Golf balls are often sold according to the number of their component parts. There are three types of balls:two-part: These are the most affordable balls. They are long-lasting and cover long distances. They are better suited to novice golfers. ‍three-part: Slightly more expensive than two-part balls, the three-part variants are preferred by regular players, because they offer a better feel and greater precision in long shots. ‍four-part: These are the most expensive and the most complete golf balls. They guarantee a perfect touch, distance and control at the moment of the impact. They enhance the effects given to the ball when striking it and reduce the distance covered by the ball between the contact with the green and the hole. ‍ ‍ ‍CHECK OUR RANGE OF GOLF BALLS Related tagsRelated tags :Nature SportsGolf
