Close Video My name is Dr. Olivia Cardenas-Trowers, and I am a urogynecologist at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida. So I treat female pelvic floor disorders which includes urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, prolapse of the vagina and uterus and fecal incontinence. I love being able to connect with women and allowing them to open up about the things that they're going through. Pelvic floor disorders are not things that most people want to talk about. People feel embarrassed. They don't want to share with their close friends or close families and they often feel isolated. And so I love being able to take that burden off of them. Then also at the same time, help them get on the pathway to getting better. When people come to Mayo, I think they'll really get the sense that we care about patients. And you can see that in the way that we treat patients, but also how we collaborate with each other in a team-based approach. I find my job very fulfilling because it's so great to see patients when, before they weren't able to do the things they they loved. And then they had intervention whether it's non-surgical or surgical. And then seeing them be able to thrive and go back to the things that they love and enjoy life again, it's, it's just very fulfilling and I'm very grateful to be able to do that.
