Eric W Nottmeier M D , is a Neurosurgeon, with special interests in complex spinal surgery and image-guided spinal surgery. His clinical focus includes: Surgical treatment of degenerative cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disease Maximizing all non-operative treatment options for spinal ailments prior to surgical intervention Educating patients on their spinal disease, including preventative measures that can be taken as well as treatment options Utilizing the most advanced technology in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Nottmeier is active in research and education by publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as training residents and fellows. Eric Nottmeier, M.D. is a neurosurgeon with special interests in complex spinal surgery and image-guided spinal surgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic hospital in Jacksonville Florida. He has published extensively on image-guided and computer-assisted spinal surgery and serves as Co-Chairman of the North American Spine Society Section on Robotics and Navigation. He is also Past-President of the Southern Neurosurgical Society. He focuses on treating degenerative cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine diseases, maximizing non-surgical treatment options for spinal conditions, and educating patients on preventative measures and treatment options, while utilizing the most advanced technology in surgical treatment of spinal disorders. Dr. Nottmeier received a biology degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and completed his medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, where he also completed a general surgery internship and neurosurgery residency. Afterwards, he was a spinal surgery fellow at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Nottmeier is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Conditions treated
