Michael B Phillips M D , is a board-certified internal medicine physician and Consultant in the Division of Community Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic Florida. He has a special interest in providing detailed and individualized primary care. His clinical focus includes: Expertise in preventative care for adult patients. Diagnosis and treatment of diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia. Coordination of care for patients with complex illnesses, in collaboration with specialist physicians and surgeons. Performance of procedures for orthopedic and dermatologic conditions. Promoting patient understanding of factors contributing to disease. In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Phillips is active in research, which he directs for the Division of Community Internal Medicine. He holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, where he teaches medical students and resident physicians. Dr. Phillips also directs two Primary Care Continuing Medical Education Conferences, educating over 500 physicians annually. He has been elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians, an honor which recognizes excellence and contributions made to medicine and the broader community, and received two Mayo Clinic Provider Recognition Awards, ranking in the 99th percentile for patient satisfaction.
