I'm sure it will be awesome, cause you're gifted ♡Have a super great day / afternoon ! ❤- Luluv on you~) A/N: HI MY LOVELY! Finally, finally, I have the first of your requests done and finished! I'm so sorry it took me so long - as I am to everyone's within this event, college tours are no joke! Anyhow, I had a TON of fun writing this one because Shinsou is just a character that doesn't get all the love he deserves! Two quick things - yes, I do personally headcanon Shinsou to work as an underground hero, like Aizawa, so I decided to include that in this fic. I just think it makes sense because his quirk is so insanely useful, as is Aizawa's, so if everyone knew him then he wouldn't be able to do his job as effectively. And, second, the hero that I mention Shouto, like, doing a photoshoot with is just a nod to my OC. I don't ship Todomomo, so I needed someone to just put with him for a plot point, so I decided okay! OC reference! Anyways, sorry that was literally the longest A/N known to mankind, but I hope you, and everyone reading, enjoys my first ever Shinsou fic!!! Word Count: 1.9K The thing that sucked about being an underground hero was that rarely did Shinsou get to work with others. At the beginning of his career, he was fine with that. After all, Mr. Aizawa, his mentor, had warned him about this part of the job before he took part in that side of the hero world. It was okay for the first few years, when he and his former classmates were just getting their feet under themselves. While people like Bakugou and Todoroki had to worry about their image and which products they were going to endorse or let sponsor them, Shinsou just had to be himself - elusive and mysterious with a touch of charm. However, everything started to shift once magazines and the media sunk their claws into the new generation of heroes. Todoroki, of course, was a popular pick, but the man rarely ever decided to actually do a photoshoot - only when a certain other pro accepted an offer, he didn't really know her name, was when the red-and-white haired man did one. Midoriya and Ochacco, of course, were the media darlings. Not only were the kindhearted, genuinely sweet people, they had both recently announced their engagement which sent news outlets down a whole new frenzy; who's dating who? The media latched onto so many random heroes and famous people within the hero world that, to Shinsou, it was getting completely ridiculous. They jumped from Monoma and Mina (completely ridiculous), to Bakugou and Camie, (even more ridiculous), and then to Iida and Mei (so entirely… actually that pair isn't half bad). Shinsou would find himself snickering as he saw these cheesy magazine covers with two of his coworkers' faces smashed together with hearts drawn all around them, laughing his head off until this month's issue dropped. Are Y/H/N and Gale Force in a secret relationship? We've got all the deets! Read how this whirlwind spinning hero swept our beautiful hero off her feet! Shinsou just stared at it. No matter how much he wanted to, how hard he tried, his eyes just wouldn't tear away. You? You and Yoarashi? Seriously? He knew that these articles come up with anything, grasp for straws as they try and find something to confirm a relationship, so he probably didn't need to read, or should have, read it. Hitoshi flipped open the page, speeding through the thing quickly until he found where the front cover article began. He had to admit, some of this information was a bit convincing. They had a timeline of whenever you interacted with each other from galas to the hero ranking parties. However, what the media failed to notice was that he was right there next to you at each and every one of those events. In the picture where you were seen laughing with Inasa, your hand was squeezing Shinsou's arm, like you always do, when you get a fit of giggles. At the ranking, when Yoarashi was seen giving you a standing ovation for when you finally cracked the top 50, Shinsou was a blur because he was jumping up and down so much. The truth was, Y/N L/N and Hitoshi Shinsou had been best friends ever since they met. As tiny little kids, you met at the local playground. The two of you had knocked heads due to both of your desires to go down the 'big kid slide', as you liked to call it. In the end, after lots of back and forth, the two of you decided to go down the slide together. Ever since then, you were as close as two friends could be. You encouraged him to apply and attend UA, even though he didn't originally get into the hero course and you did. You helped him train with Mr. Aizawa, waking up at ungodly times in the morning so he could get reps in before class started in the morning - it also didn't hurt that the two of you got to watch the sunrise every Friday morning. Somewhere along the way, Shinsou fell for you, and fell for you hard. It only became obvious once you graduated, the both of you 18 years old. Even now, the two of you are still so close. In fact, you were supposed to be coming over for dinner this evening. Shinsou intended to get something cooking in the kitchen. He was actually prepared this time, even going out to the farmer's market this morning to get the freshest of ingredients for your favorite meal. But dammit, he was stuck on his couch, his eyes and mind working overtime to process what this article was saying about you and the supposed love of your life. He didn't even hear the knock at the door, so when you bustled in with your work bag and your famous homemade cheesecake, the purple-haired man completely freaked. You just laughed. "God, Shinsou, didn't know you were such a scaredy cat!" You giggle, letting your bag fall to the floor and setting the cheesecake on his kitchen island. You peeked over to where your friend was and found him reading a magazine. "Or a gossip, do you seriously read these?" You let yourself flop onto the couch next to you, but notice he shuffles away a little to hide the magazine. "No, I don't." He says definitely. You raise an eyebrow and give him your "are you serious right now" face. "You're clearly invested, what does it say?" "Nothing!" "Right, because I'm sure the editors of these bajillion dollar making companies would allow that." "Did you seriously say bajillion?" Shinsou smirks. "Are you seriously going to make fun of my vernacular when you're hiding a gossip magazine meant for teenagers? Lemme see it!" "No!" Finally, you grab the thing with your hands and yank it towards you. "STOP, NO, DON'T READ IT!" "All right, let's see here." You clear your voice and then put on your best news announcer impression. "'Volume 127 of My Hero Weekly! This week's scoop is sure to get your heart racing!'" "Y/N, seriously, don't-" Shinsou interrupts. "Shut it, I'm having too much fun with this," you say, "ahem where was I? Oh yes, 'sure to get your heart racing. Are Y/H/N and Gale Force in a secret relationship? We've got all the deets! Read how this whirlwind spinning hero swept our beautiful hero off her feet?'" Instead of ending the quote with an excited tone, like the magazine had originally intended, your voice peters out from an impression to one of genuine confusion. "What the hell is this?" "I told you, its stupid-" "Well, why were you reading it?" You questioned, looking him in the eye. You watch as the man in front of you frantically opens and closes his mouth, trying to come up with some excuse. Alas, to no avail. Your face grows into one of concern, to you gently put your hand on his knee."You know I would tell you if I was in a relationship, right?" You get nothing from him. "Come on, we tell each other everything! How could I not? Your my best friend-" "That's just it though!" Shinsou cuts in, clearly frustrated. He gets up off of the couch, effectively returning your hand back to yourself. "Huh?" "I was reading that stupid, pointless, idiotic, unproven-" "Okay, I get your point-" "-article because I just…!" Shinsou looked, as you liked to say when he got freaked out, frazzled. His hands were mussing up his hair, he was pacing, and his expression was one of pure discomfort. You found it best, in these situations, to just keep him talking. He eventually would let the reason that was bothering him be spoken. "You just what, 'Toshi?" You say softly, your gentle tone becoming that warm blanket that it always is when Shinsou gets frazzled. "I just couldn't stand to see you and him put together like that!" You cocked your head to the side. "Because you don't like Yoarashi?" "No!" "Because you think he can do better?" "NO! No, absolutely not, you're the best there is!" You feel yourself flush at the compliment but wave it off. "Then what is it?" "It's because I was there the whole time!" You take a shallow breath as you hear him start to rant, hoping it would go into the direction you wanted it to. "I was there, and because I'm a good-for-nothing-" "Don't say that about yourself." "Sorry - because I'm an underground hero, nobody knows who I am! Nobody knows that I've been by your side, cared for you, loved you, since we were 18!" Shinsou's eyes go wide as he realizes the confession he's made. "Shit. Shit, shit, shit shit shit-" "Toshi!" You say, grabbing his hands from out of his hair. His violet irises turn wild as you come close to him. "It's okay!" "…what?" "I love you too!" You giggle, squeezing onto his arm like you always do. "You're not… you're not just saying that, right? You mean it?" You nod your head eagerly. "Of course I do! I thought you would've totally figured it out by now, I mean I wasn't exactly subtle. But I guess the guy never knows, huh!" You laugh, causing Shinsou's cheeks to flush bright red and for a small little chuckle to come from his lips. "So… so whaddya say? You wanna give this a shot? A chance?" You shake your head and Shinsou swears he can hear his heart shatter right there. "We don't need a chance, Shinsou, I know for sure you're mine!" Hitoshi Shinsou, after all his training of remaining calm and level-headed, just cannot keep himself grounded after he hears your words. He grabs your face with his hands and presses a searing kiss to your lips. It's passionate, urgent, almost, as he shuffles you back to the couch to lay you down. He clambers on top of you and attaches his lips to your cheeks, your jaw, your neck. God did it feel like lightning in a bottle when he kissed you. His lips were soft but fervent, sensitive but demanding. You almost let yourself just fall into his arms right then and there - that was until you remembered what was currently sitting on the man's counter. "Toshi…" you sigh as he presses his lips to a sensitive part of your neck. "…Toshi, the cheesecake." Everything stops and Shinsou looks up at you, a similar "are you serious right now" expression on his face to the one you had on before. "I just admitted I'm in love with you and we're making out, and all you can think of is your damned cheesecake?" You laugh and let one of your fingers come up to twirl itself around a wayward lock of purple hair. "It's not damned, it's divine." You say, earning a snort of laughter from the man on top of you. "Remind me why this is happening again?" He jokes, standing up and then offering his hand to you. You eagerly take it and then walk over with him to get your precious dessert. "Because you love me." You say with a funny tone. "Yeah," he says, watching you dreamily as you make your way around his kitchen like it was your own home. "Hell yeah I do."
