My request is for Bakugou and the song is So am I by Kurt Hugo Schneider, First to Eleven.) A/N: Annnnnnnnd here it is! I'm so sorry that it took me so long to post it and that I'm behind on writing - I promise to everyone who has submitted a request for this event, your request will be fulfilled! A bunch of ~life~ stuff just got in the way that prevented me from having the time and energy to write. Anyways, I hope you and enjoy and thank you so much for participating in the Sing To Me Event! Word Count: 1.1K Katsuki Bakugo, to the entirety of UA, was a sort of outlier. Where every student, whether they were in the hero course or not, approached their schooling and experiences with an open heart and mind, Bakugo brought a holier-than-thou attitude with an added dosage of aggression. To put it simply, if UA ever had a play and they needed to cast a student as a villain, it would be a no-brainer to nominate Bakugo. It would be an almost unanimous vote, save for one. Of course, Bakugo wouldn't care to vote, he would find the whole thing below him, but you would. You would be the one person to cross out the 'NO' box on the little paper ballot. Because Bakugo wasn't a villain-like hero, not at all. He was yours. The moment he saw your form curled up on your bed, a book in your hands, he huffed and collapsed onto your duvet covers. One of his arms loosely wraps itself around your stomach and his head presses, more like nestles, into your side. You put your book down in muted surprise for two reasons. The first was that Katsuki almost never came to your dorm room, unless he had specified earlier in the day that he would be stopping by. It was almost always you going to his, which you didn't mind, since you were usually the one who paced their day better and found time in between your studying to find your boyfriend. The second was that Katsuki was almost never touchy. Well, as touchy as he was being right now. Your hand travelled down to tentatively lay atop his soft, blonde hair. "Hey Kat… is something the matter?" You ask in a soft, but not coddling, tone. He breathes deeply and lets out a long sigh. "Stupid people saying stupid shit that they know nothing about. 'Cause they're stupid." You would normally point out that he said stupid three times and poke fun at his lack of verbal diversity, but you shrugged it off today. It wasn't what he needed to hear right now. "Do you want to tell me more about it or do you just want to chill a little." You ask, absentmindedly winding and unwinding his hair with your fingers. He sighs again and lets his arm fall back to his side as he turns, his face now staring at the ceiling. "People just don't fucking understand how much I want this." Immediately, you knew what the issue was. It was a common occurrence whenever people were talking about the blonde, but one that Katsuki was never really affected by. It seems, today, it finally broke through the tough skin he had built up over the years. He had been trying to get the message across to everyone that he was a hero. He is heroic with all the good intentions - rescue those in need and stop people from doing bad things. "Hey, don't listen to what they say. Me, Class 1A, hell, even All Might knows how much work you put into being a good hero-" "That's not what I'm talking about." His words are quiet as he interrupts you. You see it in his eyes how deeply troubled he is by something that someone said, but if it wasn't about hero work, then what was it about? "Oh, well, what-" "It was about you." Your mouth that was previously open, ready to talk some more, clamped shut. Insecurity weaves its way quickly through your brain, but you shove it to the side. "What did they say?" Katsuki's crimson eyes flicked off of the ceiling to you, catching the expression of regretful curiosity in your features. "They said that you were out of your mind if you actually like dating me." What you expected to pierce your heart and make you feel sad just made you feel anger instead. "Where do they get off making that assumption?" You ask, a more aggressive tone laced in your words. "I don't blame them." "Katsuki!" You exclaim. "Hey don't say my name like that, it reminds me of my mom." If you had used that tone with his name in any other situation you would have laughed, giggled, even, at his comment. "Why would you not blame them? What about our relationship is too difficult to understand why it might be just as normal, just as loving as any other?" "Because you're you and I'm me." You raised a brow, urging him to continue with his thoughts. He sighs, but continues. "You're this nice, kind, pretty," your face heats, "person who everyone loves and would love to be in a relationship with. I am difficult and mean and-" "And I love you, so why does any of that matter?" No matter how many times you say that to him, Katsuki never seems to contain his blush. You take his face in your hands and lean down to face him a bit better. "I love you." To your surprise, his eyes start to become a bit more watery. "But why?" You give him a sad smile. "I love you because you're heroic. You always try to do the right thing, even if it makes some people mad because it wouldn't be the way they would do it. You're sweet with me and kind, and no matter what other people might think, you are so caring and patient with me." A small, tiny little tear manages to roll its way down his cheek. "I love you because you love me." Swiftly, Katsuki wraps his arms around your waist and brings you down to him, kissing you. It's unlike the kisses he usually gives you. This one was long, slow, romantic. Not that Katsuki isn't sensual with his kisses, but this one was of such pure intentions. He wanted to convey how much he loves you, how much you mean to him, and it leaves you awestruck. "It's okay for you, for our relationship, to be different. It doesn't have to conform to anyone's standards." You say, finally pulling apart from the blonde. "It just needs to be right for us, right?" You ask him. You get a quick nod and his hand runs along his cheeks, ridding them of the tears he shed. "Yeah, sure, whatever." He says, making you smile. There he was. There was your Katsuki Bakugo. "What are you reading?" He asks, quickly changing the subject. "A romance. You'd probably hate it." He nods and shuffles up on your bed, drawing you into his arms. "Yeah, I probably would. Just to understand how ridiculous it is, though, you should probably read it. Aloud." He clarifies, making you laugh. "Yeah, okay. Sure." You say.
