Unternehmen werden gegenwärtig aufgrund der steigenden Dynamik und Komplexität ihrer Umwelt zunehmend mit Aufgaben konfrontiert, die Projektcharakter haben. In der Praxis zeigen aber Kostenüberschreitungen, Terminverzüge und Leistungsdefizite, daß es im Management derartiger Projekte Optimierungspotentiale gibt. Maximilian Mörsdorf zeigt, daß erfolgreiches Projektmanagement der individuellen Gestaltung und Koordination aus einer Hand bedarf, bei der sowohl die projektspezifischen als auch die unternehmensbezogenen Führungsanforderungen berücksichtigt werden. Aufbauend auf dem koordinationsorientierten Verständnis des Controlling macht der Autor deutlich, daß diese Gestaltungs- und Koordinationsaufgaben für das Projektmanagement die Kernfunktion des Projektcontrolling sind.
