Mit diesem Buch liegt zum einen ein praktischer Leitfaden zur Diagnostik und Therapie von Erektionsstörungen vor, zum anderen aber auch ein aktuelles Nachschlagewerk über die Physiologie, Pathophysiologie und Symptomatologie der erektilen Dysfunktion. Neben der eingehenden Beschreibung bewährter Untersuchungsverfahren finden sich diagnostische Methoden, die kurz vor dem Übergang in die praktische Routine stehen. Neueste Entwicklungen der oralen und lokalen ("SKAT") Pharmakotherapie und alternative Behandlungsoptionen werden detailliert beschrieben und deren Vorteile und Risiken kritisch abgewogen. Abgerundet wird das Buch durch spezielle Gesichtspunkte, wie z.B. psychotherapeutische (unter Einbezug der Partnerin), juristische und gutachterliche Aspekte, sowie die Behandlung von Erektionsstörungen bei Erkrankungen wie Diabetes mellitus und Niereninsuffizienz.
