About this book

Im Gegensatz zu anderen medizinischen Fachrichtungen kann sich die Psychiatrie oft nicht auf sichtbare, objektive Befunde stützen, sondern beschreibt abnormes Verhalten und intuitiv erfasste interpsychische Zustände. Die Beschreibung psychiatrischer Symptome und Befunde begegnet deshalb besonderen Schwierigkeiten. Das Buch enthält eine linguistische Untersuchung über den Sprachgebrauch in der wissenschaftlichen und klinischen Psychiatrie. Nach einleitender Darstellung wichtiger Ergebnisse der modernen linguistischen Forschung werden die Besonderheiten des sprachlichen Ausdrucks in der Psychiatrie, die Schwierigkeiten in der Beschreibung psychopathologischer Phänomene und in der Errichtung nosologischer Systeme, psychiatrische Erklärungen und Begründungen aufgezeigt.
