Ein Teil der Patienten kann sich gut auf eine psychotherapeutische Behandlung einlassen, arbeitet aktiv in der Therapie mit, öffnet sich und erprobt neue Verhaltensweisen, während andere Patienten zu Therapieabbruch und Widerstand tendieren, sich verschließen, wenig aktiv an der Therapie teilnehmen und Schwierigkeiten bei der Umsetzung von Intentionen aufweisen. Johannes Michalak untersucht, welchen Einfluss Konflikte zwischen persönlichen Zielen von Patienten auf ihre Therapiemotivation und Selbstregulation haben und wie sie sich langfristig auf den Therapieerfolg auswirken.
