Chronic pelvic pain. People with chronic pelvic pain benefit from Mayo Clinic's multidisciplinary approach to care. Your doctor may involve colleagues who specialize in pain medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, behavioral health, gastroenterology, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. If you wish, your Mayo Clinic doctor will consult with your primary provider for long-term management. Endometriosis. People with endometriosis will work with doctors who take a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to this condition. Mayo Clinic is one of the few large academic medical centers engaging in research of endometriosis to improve care and outcomes. Vulvar skin conditions. People with complicated vulvar skin conditions (dermatoses) might be evaluated and treated with a combined effort between a gynecologist and an expert in skin conditions (dermatologist). Services and clinics
Fibroid Clinic. The Fibroid Clinic offers a full range of noninvasive and minimally invasive treatment options for fibroids. Gynecologic genetics. People at risk of hereditary gynecologic conditions will talk with genetics professionals who provide comprehensive genetic services, including pedigree analysis, genetic counseling and genetic testing. Your genetics professional can also talk with you about preconception counseling, genetic screening, and reimplantation genetic screening or diagnosis. People with primary ovarian insufficiency (also called premature ovarian failure) and disorders of sexual differentiation also may want to talk with a gynecologic genetics expert. Colposcopy. Women who have abnormal Pap tests will be seen by a doctor experienced in a procedure called colposcopy. This technique is also used to diagnose and treat more complex conditions. Abnormal Uterine Bleeding Clinic. People who visit this clinic will be seen by providers specializing in diagnosing and treating abnormal uterine bleeding and uterine fibroids. Your doctor will partner with radiologists to obtain imaging studies and perform in-clinic procedures, including hysteroscopy, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, removal of endometrial polyps, endometrial ablation, complex hysteroscopic sterilization, and endoscopic removal of fibroids and abnormal ovarian cysts. Young Women's Clinic. At Mayo Clinic's campus in Minnesota, teenagers who are moving from pediatric care to gynecologic care may want to visit the Young Women's Clinic.
