Someone Needs To Build This Insanely Cool Corvette-Inspired Porsche

When you think of Porsche restomods that combine retro styling with modern technology and engineering, you think of Singer Vehicle Design. The prolific Porsche restomod specialist has set the bar high with projects like the superb 911 Dynamics & Lightweighting Study. But what if a Porsche restomod combined styling cues from classic sports cars from the past that aren't Porsches? To show what such a project could look like, UK artist Al Yasid, also known as "asyasiddesign" on Instagram, has rendered his dream Porsche restomod, and it looks wild. And, perhaps, somewhat controversial https://www.instagram.com/p/CW3a2joosaQ/ Al Yasid/Instagram Al Yasid/Instagram With its bulging fenders, side skirts, and flowing shape, the main inspiration appears to be from a C3 Chevrolet Corvette mixed with elements from the C4 Corvette, but the profile also pays homage to the Porsche 928. The striking shape may also have been inspired by the McLaren Speedtail and the ridiculously expensive Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. At the front, the retro-style headlights have been modernized with LED units, while a slim full-width light bar and dual tailpipes adorn the rear. There is also a silver bar on the roof recalling the 911 Targa and a glass panel exposing the rear-mounted engine. Al Yasid/Instagram Al Yasid/Instagram Al Yasid/Instagram The artist hasn't said what would power his creation if it was built in real life, but we would like to think it would utilize Porsche's 4.0-liter boxer engine 4.0-liter from the GT3 generating 500 horsepower. The artist also hasn't named his creation yet, however. Instead, he refers to the concept as the "Zero Two" and is inviting his followers to come up with ideas for a name. Some of our favorite suggestions in the comments include Porsche Targa Speedtail, 912 Futura, 928 Targa, and Pfeil, the German word for arrow.
