2022 Honda Passport Arrives With Competitive Pricing
Dec. 06, 2021 9:37 AM ET by Sebastian Cenizo Pricing / Comments Although the base model has gone. Back in September, Honda revealed the rugged TrailSport version of the Passport SUV. Designed to be an adventure-friendly family car, the latest iteration of the Honda Passport is sure to be a sales success - at least, it will be if its pricing follows that of the remarkably affordable 2020 version. Honda has just announced what the latest iteration of the practical family crossover will cost, and unsurprisingly, the Japanese automaker is once again promising excellent value. The 2021 model's most expensive variant, the Elite trim, cost $44,180. For the new model year, this trim is not much dearer at $45,430 before destination. But what about the rest of the range? Honda Honda Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start (sorry, not sorry for the earworm). The old entry-point to Passport ownership was the Sport trim ($32,790), but that is now gone. The new base model is the EX-L 2WD which costs $37,870 ($1,060 more than the 2021 version) and promises 20/25/22 mpg on the EPA's city/highway/combined cycles. Next up is the AWD version of the same trim, which retails for $39,970. This is slightly less economical with figures of 19/24/21 mpg on the same cycles, but the rest of the range also powers all four wheels, so economy is no different higher up the trim ladder. The next model is the new-for-2022 TrailSport, which will set you back $42,470 before we get to the aforementioned range-topping Elite trim. All models carry a $1,225 destination charge. Honda Honda Honda As standard, all models boast power-adjustable heated front seats, an eight-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and remote engine start. You also get Honda Sensing, a suite of driver aids that includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. New for 2022 is the addition of a rear seat reminder and a rear seatbelt reminder. As before, a 3.5-liter V6 produces 280 horsepower and comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Considering all the styling upgrades, additional safety tech, and remarkable pricing, the Passport is once again set to be a very popular offering. Let's just hope that the recalls are done with.
