From rare oddities to classic restomods, people can't get enough of this car, and Chevrolet can barely keep up with demand for the latest C8. We've converted some very interesting Corvette cars over the years, but every once in a while we come across something really special. This is one of those cars. Listed for sale on Classic Autotrader for an eye-watering $209,995, this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe continuation must be one of the coolest-looking 'Vettes we've ever seen, and don't let the continuation label fool you: this ain't no cheap replica, but a Chevrolet-sanctioned build of the highest quality. Chevrolet wanted to compete with Ford and the Shelby Cobra. After GM higher-ups learned of the project, it was canned, and only 5 models saw the light of day. These examples are all stored in museums across the country and are worth millions of dollars a pop. This example is one of thirteen licensed continuation cars built by Duntov Motor Company. In 2009 Duntov acquired the blueprints and original body molds, and this car, which features a clamshell body, is registered as number 21, following the original five cars. The interior features matching brown leather bucket seats with four-point harnesses and an original instrumentation cluster. Under that hood sleeps a 427 cubic-inch small block Chevy V8 custom built by McCabe Motorsports. The motor features a Holley Q-series Black Diamond carburetor and, according to Classic Auto Trader, makes 700 horsepower on the dyno. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed Tremec manual transmission. This continuation car has only 3,000 miles on the odometer and is a collector's dream, so don't expect it to be listed for much longer.
