CyberLandr Camper For Cybertruck Hits $100 Million In Pre-Orders
Dec. 12, 2021 10:37 AM ET by Gerhard Horn Video / 13 Comments If only the Cybertruck it's designed for existed. Stream It has reached the big leagues, accumulating $100 million worth of pre-orders for the CyberLandr. This is a pop-up camper accessory tailored specifically to the dimensions of the Tesla Cybertruck. The announcement was made on its Facebook page, along with a link to a StartEngine page, giving people an opportunity to invest. "We know we wouldn't be where we are without the support of all of our pre-orderers and enthusiasts, so we are giving everyone a chance to own part of the company. Not only does buying into CyberLandr give you the chance to share in our successes, but you will also be a key part of accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation," stated the Facebook post. https://www.facebook.com/CyberLandr/posts/335716328382347 Stream It Stream It Stream It Stream It Along with the Facebook post, a video was also posted to YouTube. The video narrator states that the CyberLandr will use the transition to sustainable transportation and software to disrupt the RV industry in the same way Tesla disrupted the automotive industry. The CyberLandr is an impressive piece of engineering. It was designed to fit perfectly into the Cybertruck's bed, which means it has no impact on the drag coefficient and range. And, even though it folds neatly into the bed, it opens up into an ample living space that includes a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. They're all technically the same room, but it's hard not to be impressed by what the engineers have achieved here. The closest thing to a Cybertruck Tesla currently offers is a whistle shaped like a pickup, and it's already sold out. The Austin Gigafactory where it will be built is still not complete, and Tesla's vice president of vehicle engineers stated that deliveries would not begin in 2021 and likely not in 2022 either. The Cybertruck has been delayed due to several technical difficulties, and Elon Musk keeps announcing more features that will inevitably delay the production date even further. The most recent announcement was a quad-motor version of the Cybertruck, and considering Tesla doesn't have a working quad-motor platform, expect even more delays. While the CyberLandr is undoubtedly excellent, its success relies heavily on a car that doesn't exist outside a digital rendering. The CyberLandr retails for $49,995, and deposits range from $100 to $5,000.Stream It Stream It Stream It Stream It
