Ford Confirms Upgrades And Starting Price For 2022 Mustang Mach-E

Earlier this year, we reported on the changes to the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E and the price increases that go along with it. We can now confirm the updates for the 2022 model year and the entry-level price of the updated range. The price increase is not as drastic as we thought, with the Mach-E range kicking off with an MSRP of $43,895. That's a $1,000 increase over the 2021 model. The most significant change is to the battery packs. Like before, customers can choose between a Standard Range (SR) and Extended Range (ER) battery pack. The SR battery pack now has 70 kWh usable energy, while the ER has 91 kWh. Ford Ford The result is an increase in range, specifically on the California Route 1. According to the EPA, it can do 314 miles with the ER battery and rear-wheel-drive. That's an increase of 14 miles, taking it within four miles of Tesla's top-selling Model Y. The California Route 1 is now also available with electric all-wheel-drive and comes as standard with heated seats and steering wheel. On the style side, the Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition now come as standard with a black painted roof. Ford also added a new color to the palette, called Ice Blue Silver Metallic. The model-specific Grabber Blue Metallic and Cyber Orange Metallic are now available across the range and are no longer limited to high-end models. Ford Ford Ford Since its launch, the Mach-E has done wonders for Ford. Even before introducing the go-faster GT models, the Mach-E had a massive waiting list. The global semiconductor problem means supply is short, but Ford gives prospective customers an additional 250 kWh of complimentary charging as a bonus. Ford also recently started producing the Mach-E in China, exclusively for that market. Oddly, the claimed range for the Chinese model is 385 miles, according to the China light-duty vehicle test cycle. That's for A RWD model with an ER battery.
