It's about the lifestyle that revolves around the car, too. Just like Ford F-150 Raptor owners are likely to drive RVs and own Monster-branded t shirts, Mercedes-AMG SL owners are likely to own multiple pairs of Gucci loafers and Versace sweaters. Where do you expect these people to store their premium clothing? In custom-made leather luggage bags of course. The idea of custom-fitted luggage for cars has been around for over a century, and is still a thing today: the Rolls-Royce Wraith for instance can be purchased with a six-piece luggage set for $45,000, and BMW also offers its own fitted luggage set for the BMW 8 Series. Mercedes-AMG SL owners can now breathe a sigh of relief, as Italian leather goods manufacturer Santoni is offering a bespoke luggage set for these cars, and it looks pretty good. Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-Benz The SL-specific luggage set consists of a beauty case, a backpack and a weekender case, and is constructed of the same Napa leather used in the car itself. The luggage set is made to fit perfectly within the confines of the SL's small trunk, and is available in black, sienna brown and red pepper. Embossed on the bags is a Santoni for AMG logo. "The new Mercedes-AMG SL offers the highest level of comfort and quality, and combines this with inspiring sportiness. This makes it the ideal automotive companion for those occasional escapes from the daily routine - and the customized Santoni luggage set is the perfect matching lifestyle accessory. With the new SL, as with the Santoni collection, stylish luxury meets perfect craftsmanship," says Philipp Schiemer, chairman of the board of management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
