Americans are infatuated with large luxury SUVs, but our European friends, who have traditionally been into smaller city cars and sedans, have also acquired a taste for these big gas-guzzling behemoths, especially American branded vehicles. But due to strict environmental laws, and myriad other regulations, it is ridiculously expensive to own one. Cars such as the Cadillac Escalade and Jeep Grand Wagoneer are seen as viable daily drivers in the US, but a recent second-hand listing in Germany puts things into perspective: a used Jeep Grand Wagoneer will cost you much as a high-end Aston Martin DBX in Europe. Listed at 156,870 Euros with a German dealer via mobile.de, this 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will set you back $176,000. That's the same MSRP as the Aston Martin DBX over here. For that money you get a ton of tech and luxury features, along with a very expensive fuel bill, but that's nothing compared to the prices this German car dealer is asking for a new 2022 model. The car listed has a Diamond Black Crystal paint job with a black interior with features such Front Passenger Interactive Display, Night Vision, a 12-inch touchscreen, massage seats and 22-inch rims. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. At 6,400 pounds, this lumbering hotel on wheels will only manage a dismal 13/19 mpg city/highway. American customers can expect to pay around $90,000 for an entry level model, and up to $110,000 for a fully loaded car.
