Chevy Reveals Original Sketches Of The Beast Offroad Concept

Dec. 26, 2021 9:49 AM ET by Michael Butler Concept / 3 Comments The carmaker went all out on this one. Chevy held nothing back at this year's SEMA show, showcasing over a dozen crazy custom builds, including the hardcore off-road Chevy Beast concept. This machine caused quite a stir, not only because it looks so badass, but due to the fact that Chevy had to drop the "Beast" name for some unknown reason. This monstrous machine, now known simply as the "Chevy Off-Road Concept" is an imposing machine in real life, and GM design has just released some concept sketches of the car before it was born. GM Design/Instagram GM Design/Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CXotco3pVTx The design sketches show off both the exterior and interior of the Chevy Off-Road concept, revealing a few interesting design changes from concept to the actual vehicle. We all know that concepts rarely translate to the real world retaining all its original features, and that might be the case here, but we're impressed with how true Chevrolet remained to the original idea. The exterior of the sketch car features similar LED headlights, a gaping grille, and sturdy-looking tow hooks. The door design even looks more or less the same as the real deal. The interior sketches show a rugged space with a minimalist aesthetic. A simple three-spoke steering wheel and a stick shift stand out for us. https://www.instagram.com/p/CXt4PgppvzN/ Chevrolet Chevrolet Chevrolet Chevrolet The actual car ended up borrowing a steering wheel from a C8 Corvette and uses a ten-speed automatic transmission instead of a manual box, but did retain the 6.2-liter V8 LT4 gas engine which produces a monumental 650 horsepower. The final product measures 204 inches in length with a 126.87-inch wheelbase and features a custom tubular frame and five-link rear suspension. The machine formerly known as the beast rolls on a set of 37-inch off-road tires fitted to 20-inch beadlock wheels, which is a far cry from the titanic wheels featured in the sketches. Renders and sketches of the upcoming Silverado EV are looking good, but nothing can touch this thing. Chevrolet Chevrolet Chevrolet
