Ford Bronco Has A Secret Weapon Against The Jeep Wrangler

Ford hasn't told us when exactly, but the Bronco is coming back, and it's aimed squarely at the Jeep Wrangler. To steal sales away from Jeep, the new Bronco will reportedly arrive with a removable roof, making it one of the few available SUVs with an open-top driving experience. But it will take more than just a convertible roof to dethrone the Wrangler. Jeep buyers have access to a nearly endless catalog of Mopar accessories from which they can customize their vehicles, and Ford will need to match it in order to compete. According to a report by Muscle Cars & Trucks, Ford is already working with parts supplier Yakima to develop add-ons for the 2021 Bronco. The parts are reportedly already in development and will be available right when the Bronco launches. Ford Ford Ford Ford recently worked with Yakima to develop parts - like a roof-mounted bike rack - for the launch of the 2020 Explorer SUV (pictured below). Similar parts are also offered on the Ranger pickup truck and should be offered on the Bronco when it arrives. The range of Bronco accessories is expected to include bike racks, kayak racks, hitch-mounted storage racks, a camping tent, cargo trays, and even a foldable awning. The partnership will allow Ford customers to choose accessories at the dealership and factor them into the monthly payment and financing. Since the parts will be offered by Ford, they will even be backed by a three-year, 36,000-mile Ford warranty. Ford Ford Ford Ford Jeep also offers a slew of Wrangler accessories through its Mopar parts department, which are covered by a two-year warranty. The Wrangler has long been the darling of the aftermarket community, but we could start to see many companies turn to the new Bronco and recently-revealed Land Rover Defender to build new parts.
