Meet The 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe and Cabriolet

It's easy to get lost in Porsche's comprehensive 911 model list and end up focusing on the pumped-up models. However, the Carrera is one of Porsche's most popular models because the basic ingredients for a 911 base model have been refined so well over time. The performance is accessible but with distinct Porsche 911 quality and dynamics, it's completely useable as a comfortable everyday driver, and the price is premium but not insane until you start over-egging the pudding with options. The 992 generation of 911 has been with us for a while, but now Porsche has finally unveiled the Carrera 4 coupe and cabriolet models for those want their base model to have all-weather traction through an all-wheel-drive system. Porsche Porsche Porsche Power is still in the sweet spot of exciting and useable with 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque available to crank to all four wheels. With the all-wheel-drive system, the Carrera 4 will hustle to 60 mph in 4 seconds, or 3.8 seconds with the Sport Chrono package optioned to the standard eight-speed PDK transmission. The technology for the all-wheel-drive system comes courtesy of the technology used on the Carrera 4S, including the liquid-cooled front differential that allows it to be more aggressive on low-grip surfaces. Porsche Porsche Porsche Over the standard Carrera model, the Carrera 4 also gets Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard along with the "Normal" and "Sport" modes to use as appropriate. The Carrera 4 also has a staggered wheel size setup with 20-inch disks on the back and 19-inch on the front. Optionally, an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring is available. Porsche is expecting the Carrera 4 coupe and cabriolet flavors to reach dealers in early 2020 starting at $105,050. Losing the roof starts at $118,850 with both prices including destination charges.
