It's a 1976 911 Carrera that was modified in-period for sliding around off-road, and it's done plenty of that in the past four decades. In fact it's driven the equivalent of circumnavigating the world no less than three times, which is hard to wrap our heads around. It entered the same grueling event again in 2004, and in between and since has run the Australian Safari Rally twice, the Targa Tasmania, and the East African Classic Safari Rally (to name just a few of the events in which it's competed). And it's all documented in a hundred pages of archival material. The car is sure to catch a fair bit of attention when it crosses the auction block as well. Bonhams estimates it'll fetch over half a million dollars at its Goodwood Revival sale on September 14.
