This Is Why Hyundai Is Scaring The Germans

Hyundai has chosen the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show as the venue to unveil its latest offerings. Some vehicles will make production, while others remain concepts for now. Electrification will play a key role in the automaker's future, as will motorsport. Which is why Hyundai Motorsport's plans to unveil its new and first-ever all-electric vehicle. Designed and developed entirely by Hyundai Motorsport at its Alzenau, Germany headquarters, the new car will debut on September 10, preview inga bunch of new technologies which, hopefully, will trickle their way down to future production models. The South Korean automaker has already teased this new EV, but today comes a new teaser video featuring FIA WTCR winner Gabriele Tarquini doing his best impression of a mad German scientist creating a so-called monster. A few quick images of the car are shown here but it's still difficult to discern all of the details. Hyundai's N division, responsible for the likes of the new Veloster N and its overseas counterpart, the i30 N, also had a hand in the race car's development. And speaking of the i30 N, Frankfurt is also the chosen venue for the debut of the limited-run i30 N Project C. Only 600 examples are planned but we're hoping its Nurburgring-tuned features will soon be applied to its Veloster N cousin. We remain hopeful and we'll be on the ground at Frankfurt asking Hyundai that very question. Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai Above all, one thing is clear: Hyundai is going all-out with its N performance division as well its motorsport division and it's not afraid to show its stuff on German territory.
