There are many ways to option the supercar to your liking, and McLaren is more than willing to oblige. And then there's McLaren Special Operations (MSO). For even more money, you can customize the 720S to your heart's desire. One of the features MSO offers is the Define Carbon Fiber Active Rear Spoiler. Previously, customers had to decide when configuring their cars at the dealership whether they wanted this feature or not because it was factory installed. Now, however, McLaren has changed its mind. The UK supercar company has just announced North American 720S Coupe and Spider customers can upgrade their cars with this hydraulically operated spoiler if they don't already have it. It has airbrake functionality along with an optimized motion that improves downforce efficiency. Furthermore, it's automatically activated to either decrease drag or increase downforce. When equipped to the 720S, the car's aerodynamic efficiency is more than double that of its predecessor, the 650S. The 720S MSO Defined Carbon Fiber Active Rear Spoiler comes with a two-year warranty and is currently available to order for $9,979.07. Yes, that's the precise amount McLaren announced. The McLaren 720S Coupe and Spider come powered by a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 710 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Starting price: $285,000 for the Coupe and $306,000 for the Spider. Supercar perfection never comes cheap.
