New Hardcore BMW M2 CS Finally Has Reveal Date

With a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo straight-six engine producing 405 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque and a slew of track-focused M performance parts, the BMW M2 Competition is already a hardcore beast. BMW even recently announced a customer racing car version for those who want to tear up the track. But what about the long-rumored M2 CS? Well, if a report by BMW Blog is to be believed, the new M2 CS will finally break cover in just a few months at the LA Auto Show in November. And based on what we know so far, this is going to be the ultimate swansong for the current-generation M2. BMW BMW Unfortunately for BMW, a leaked order guide has already revealed everything you need to know about the M2 CS before the debut. To distinguish it from the standard M2, the CS version will receive an extensive carbon fiber makeover, with the hood, a newly designed roof, front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and side mirrors getting the carbon fiber treatment. Inside, the upgrades will include a carbon fiber center console, a carbon fiber door handle cover, Alcantara trim with red contrast stitching, M2 CS badging, M Competition seats from the M4 CS, and an Alcantara M Steering Wheel. BMW BMW Bigger changes will be found under the hood, as the M2's 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine will reportedly be tuned to produce 450 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque sent to the rear wheels through a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional seven-speed dual clutch gearbox, while a modified M Sport exhaust system will make the six-cylinder unit sound suitable aggressive. Other standard features will include the Adaptive M Suspension and 19 inch wheels that can house optional M-Carbon ceramic brakes. BMW Blog's sources also claim the M2 CS will be produced in limited numbers, with production limited to less than 2,000 models. Customer deliveries will reportedly start next summer. BMW BMW BMW
