Ford Mustang SUV Will Be A Beast In The Snow

Ford is on a mission to educate the masses that electric vehicles are, amongst other things, fun to drive and can handle bad weather. They've rolled that in with a big teaser for the new all-electric and Mustang-inspired SUV, posting a video and some "spy shot" style images of the vehicle fooling around in the snow. Of course, we are interested to see Ford's attempt at dispelling myths about electric vehicles, and this gives us an even more interesting glimpse of the upcoming SUV. Although we're still trying to see exactly where the inspiration from the Mustang is going to show up. Ford Ford Ford Ford recently found that only 19 percent of Americans trust EVs in bad weather, and only 28 percent would choose electric power over a regular gas-powered engine to travel in an emergency. The video is taken from the Smithers Winter Test Center located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and during the video of the vehicle hooning and carving its way around in the ice and packed snow, the electric SUV dispels any notion it can't deal with slippery conditions. The test drivers, predictably, are impressed with the vehicle and particularly about how responsive the chassis and power are turning out to be. Ford Ford Unfortunately, all the body cladding and camouflage just doesn't give us a real insight into the SUV's relationship to the Mustang. It's clearly all-wheel-drive and electric powered, unlike Mustangs, and so far it just looks like any crossover Ford could put out in the wild. Perhaps when the cladding comes off we'll start to see some of those styling cues but so far we're not getting anything. Performance-wise though, it looks like the new electric SUV is going to be a lot of fun and, hopefully, it'll have some real off-road chops to go with the ice and snow skating skills.
