Brabus G V12 900 Is A G-Class Of Epic Proportions

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class essentially remained the same underneath until it was finally replaced with an all-new (but similar-looking) 2019 model. This new G boasts a slew of interior upgrades but under the hood, the monstrous V12 engine is nowhere to be found. Mercedes still sells the V8-powered G63 AMG but the V12 G65 AMG was discontinued. Mercifully (for ten lucky people, anyway) German tuning house Brabus has introduced a limited-run G V12 900 model, which brings back the glorious V12 engine and stuffs it into the updated G-Class. Brabus brought the G V12 900 to the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show where we were able to get what will likely be our first and last look at the limited production vehicle. Only 10 will be built, meaning we may never see another one in the metal again. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz Brabus has stuffed a hand-built 6.3-liter twin-turbo V12 engine rated at 888 horsepower and 1,106 lb-ft of torque under the hood. The engine is so mighty, in fact, Brabus has to electronically limit the top speed to 174 mph and the torque figure to 885 lb-ft. Even still, Brabus says the G V12 900 will hit 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, which is 0.7 seconds quicker than the G63 AMG. The upgrades aren't just under the hood either, Brabus has made some excellent visuall enhancements. A body kit widens the track by four inches, adding to the aggressiveness of the G-Wagen, while the suspension and exhaust have also been fettled. The show car was equipped with two different sets of wheels, which range up to 24 inches. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz Inside, Brabus has extensively customized the cabin with bespoke leather and Alcantara finished in a classy shade of white with orange piping. Carbon fiber is used throughout with several badges and plaques reminding the driver they are behind the wheel of a one-of-ten V12 monster. Brabus is selling the G V12 900 for 605,055 Euros (around $670,000), which is around four times the price of a G63 AMG.
