Tesla Brings Back Free Supercharging

Sep. 14, 2019 6:35 AM ET by Ian Wright / 2 Comments It needs those end of quarter sales. If you've been considering a Tesla, now might be the time to order one. At the end of the last quarter, Tesla was aiming for record deliveries to show growth and used employee bonuses to get there. As we approach the end of Q3, Tesla wants a final push to bolster numbers and Elektric is reporting that this time, the California-based electric car company is offering free supercharging. Tesla Tesla The catch, of course, is that the buyer needs to take delivery by the end of the month. Furthermore, it's only available on Model 3 sales and the period new owners will receive free supercharging for is two years. In addition, Tesla has authorized sales staff to waive fees on up to two features to match orders with inventory vehicles, which sweetens the deal considerably. Those features are limited to paint colors, wheels, and the interior, but it's worth remembering any color that isn't white costs more, as does the white interior finish and the premium 19-inch wheels. Tesla Tesla Tesla has been back and forth on its free supercharging over the years, and originally all owners gained free use of Supercharger stations. The ownership perk went away in 2016, then came back in 2017 before it was downgraded to a referral reward. It returned again this year, but only for people buying the Model S and Model X. A quick trip to Tesla's website shows the Model 3 is currently being offered with zero cash down and 3.99% APR, which makes it a good buy right now. For those wanting to lease a Tesla though, it still requires and $2,500 deposit and putting down $3,500 on the lease. Tesla Tesla Tesla
