Initially dubbed the MP4-12C it was later renamed as the more palatable 12C. While the 12C was retired in 2014 and replaced by the 650S in 2015, it has since gone on to become a collectible supercar. Prices have steadily risen over the past few years and those who buy supercars as future investments have taken notice. While it's unlikely the McLaren 12C will reach seven-figure status, its value is sure to increase. Which brings us to this 2014 McLaren 12C Spider 50th Anniversary Edition up for grabs on Bring A Trailer. At the time of this writing, it has a current bid of only $60,000, though there's a full seven days left for the auction. Will the bidding exceed the six-figure mark? But the market for these kinds of things can be tricky. There's simply no way to accurately predict the outcome. Based on a less than stellar bidding war turnout last month at Pebble Beach, some industry analysts believe a supercar market slowdown has begun. If so, could this affect the final price of this 12C Spider? Who knows, but the car itself is quite impressive. It is just one of 50 examples built by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) and aside from its traditional McLaren orange paint job, it features five-decade celebratory features like satin-black ultra-lightweight wheels, MSO carbon fiber front bumper, carbon-ceramic brakes with silver calipers, Carbon Black leather and Alcantara cabin, and unique badging. There are a few other noteworthy extras as well but its low mileage must also be noted: just over 18,000 miles, 5,000 of which were added by its current seller who bought it only 16 months ago. The original MSRP was $316,259 and we highly doubt it'll even go for half that. This could be a great opportunity to pick up a potential future classic for a relatively small sum of cash.
