Someone Already Flipping Toyota Supra Launch Edition

Sep. 03, 2019 6:09 AM ET by Jay Traugott For Sale / 5 Comments Will it hit six figures? Following years of waiting, the reborn 2020 Toyota Supra officially called GR Supra, debuted at the 2019 Detroit Motor Show. The sports coupe has since arrived in dealerships, though some of those Toyota dealers chose to mark up prices simply because they could. There was little Toyota could do about the practice. One dealer we reported about marked up its allocated Supra Launch Edition, limited to the first 1,500 units, from its $57,000 MSRP to $100,000. It happens. For anyone still anxious to purchase a Launch Edition and was rightly unwilling to go along with any markups, you may have another chance.
Up for sale on Bring A Trailer is this 2020 Supra GR Launch Edition, chassis #966, with a mere 23 miles on its clock. Factory options include the Driver Assistance Package and carbon fiber mirror caps. Turns out this Supra is being sold by a dealer instead of a private seller. Of course, the auction has just gotten underway with a full six days remaining. There's no doubt the price will climb but the question is by how much? Will it hit six figures? There's no way to accurately predict. The sale also includes the window sticker, which has been laminated, that shows the original delivery details to West Herr Toyota of Orchard Park, New York. This could turn out to be an opportunity to get your hands on a Supra Launch Edition without a huge markup. Then again, a bidding war could ensue and, well, we all know what happens then. Remember, all Supra trims are powered by the same BMW-sourced turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and paired to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. It really boils down to how desperately one wants a Launch Edition. Bring A Trailer Bring A Trailer Bring A Trailer
