The project initially known as the Mach E will assuredly be larger, but the swoopy design lends itself rather convincingly to the Mustang's design cues applied to the front and rear ends. Especially with those racing stripes. The red renderings meanwhile appear to be based on the Mercedes GLE Coupe - a decidedly more upscale model than either the Puma or its forthcoming big brother. But that only highlights the precedent which the new crossover will follow in its own way. Since Porsche launched the Cayenne, many other automakers known for their sports cars have come out with performance crossovers of their own – like Lamborghini and Maserati, with Aston Martin and Ferrari soon to follow. Of course Ford has made more than its fair share of crossovers too, and this one won't be anywhere near as high-end as those high-riding European exotics. It'll also be all-electric.
