Pre-Order Your Cadillac CT6-V Now Before It' s Gone

Jan. 15, 2019 6:59 AM ET by Noah Joseph Pricing / 9 Comments Only a handful will be made, so don't hang around. Cadillac's phasing out the CT6 almost as soon as it's been introduced. But before it's gone, it'll make a handful of CT6-V performance versions. And it's now accepting reservations.
The amped-up version of the GM's flagship sedan, the CT6-V packs a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8. The hand-built engine is known as the Blackwing, comes mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, and is said to be capable of producing an estimated 550 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Performance stats haven't been released, but with that much muscle on tap, you can bet it'll hustle. Cadillac Cadillac Cadillac Along with the potent engine, the model that was originally revealed as the CT6 V-Sport also features 20-inch alloys, subtly enhanced aerodynamic elements, a mechanical limited-slip differential, an upgraded suspension with retuned adaptive dampers, huge 19-inch Brembo brakes... even a Track Mode, should you want to see just what your big new Caddy can do. Fortunately the CT6-V comes with a two-day package to learn how to handle it under the tutelage of the Cadillac V-Performance Academy at Spring Mountain in Nevada, which buyers can use anytime within a year of taking delivery. All that can be yours for $88,790, plus destination. Cadillac Cadillac Cadillac Cadillac That places it, in relative terms, somewhere in between the E53 and E63 versions of the smaller Mercedes-AMG E-Class, and much less than the bigger S63. While the new V model doesn't pack quite the same punch as 63-series AMG, it handsomely out-muscles Affalterbach's 43- and hybrid 53-series models. Cadillac will only offer 275 examples of the CT6-V in the United States for delivery towards the middle of this year. The model currently looks destined to be phased out after that, unless GM finds another location to equitably produce the CT6 for the North American market, or import it from China, where it will remain in production.
