800-HP Sleeper Van Comes With Porsche Power

This one appears to look more aggressive thanks to a stealthy black-out theme and perhaps it could even be one of the Hartman-tuned vans with a 2.0-liter TDI engine producing 212 horsepower and 339 lb-ft. Not even close. This VW van may look slightly more aggressive on the outside but the exterior styling is nothing compared to what has been done under the surface. CarSpecial CarSpecial Underneath, this van is now powered by the drivetrain from a 997 generation Porsche 911 Turbo: a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six sending 500 horsepower to the rear wheels. What's more, the Berlin-based tuner that built it, TH Automobile, added GT2 turbos to bring the power up to 580 hp. TH says it can even up the power to 800 hp on request. An all-wheel-drive model is also possible, though the tuner says it would have to be ordered from new. We haven't even mentioned the best part about this particular example - it's got a six-speed manual transmission. Our favorite part about this build is how normal it looks on the outside and more impressively, how normal it looks on the inside. TH Automobile has seamlessly integrated parts from the 911 into the van, without disturbing the stock, sleeper vibe of the van. CarSpecial Some of the modifications include a Porsche gauge cluster and steering wheel as well as seats taken straight out of a 911. The rear seats, which can swivel and include built-in tables, have even been reupholstered to match the Porsche front seats. In true minivan fashion, there is even a drop-down DVD player for the kids. If you head around back, everything looks normal until you open the rear engine bay, revealing the Porsche engine. Keen-eyed readers may have also noticed a dead giveaway of the engine swap - a central-mounted exhaust tip from a 911. If you are interested in owning one of the coolest sleeper cars we have ever seen, it is currently for sale on Car-Special for a whopping 139,800 Euros (around $160,000). Considering how much work went into building this van, we'd say it seems like a fair price.
