Mini JCW Hardtop And Convertible Updated For 2019

At the beginning of 2018, Mini announced a facelift for its 2019 Cooper Hardtop and Convertible models. Now, those updates are making their way to the John Cooper Works models. As with the standard cars, the 2019 facelift is a minor one, with the biggest change being a new engine particulate filter integrated into the sports exhaust system. Mini, along with many other companies, have been forced to perform emergency changes on its lineup to meet Europe's stricter WLTP emissions regulations. By mounting the filter in the exhaust, Mini was able to avoid any loss in performance. US output hasn't been revealed, though we expect the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder to continue producing 228 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. Power still goes out to the front wheels through a six-speed manual or eight-speed Steptronic automatic. With the manual, the JCW Coupe takes 6.3 seconds to hit 60 mph while the Convertible takes 6.6 seconds. Interestingly, Mini didn't quote 0-60 mph times for the automatic, though we assume they will still be in the low six-second range. Mini Mini Mini Mini On the outside, the biggest change for the 2019 models is the addition of new Union Jack taillights and special 17-inch JCW wheels. Inside, most of the changes come in the form of increased personalization options including piano black trim with LED backlighting, wireless charging, a Mini puddle light, and new digital services on the infotainment system. US pricing and availability haven't been announced, though we expect these updated JCW models to arrive in dealers in early 2019 with similar pricing to last year's models. Mini Mini
