Lincoln' s First EV Will Be Inspired By The Mustang

In hybrid form, the Aviator produces a whopping 450 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. This is just a taste of what we can expect from the Lincoln brand as the company moves towards fully electric vehicles. Speaking to Automotive News, Ford's head of North America business, Kumar Galhotra, said Lincoln's all-electric crossover would be based on Ford's Mustang-inspired crossover. This Mustang-inspired SUV was initially set to be called the Mach 1 but this idea was met with criticism from passionate fans. Ford Ford Ford Even though the two SUVs will share a platform, Galhotra says the Lincoln version will maintain the brand's "quiet luxury" theme while the Ford version will feature more aggressive looks - Jim Farley, Ford's president of global markets, even compared it to a rocket ship. "You can make beautiful vehicles in different ways," Galhotra said. "The BEV technology gives us so much freedom to sculpt that vehicle exactly how we want it. We're going to create elegant Lincoln BEVs." We still don't know when Lincoln's EV will arrive but we know it will feature a quiet interior and user-friendly controls. Lincoln Lincoln "You have a lot more flexibility," Galhotra said. "It's not so much if we're going to be aggressive or not. It's how do we use all those pieces of technology to deliver on the brand essence of Lincoln, which will be understated, quiet luxury."
