Lamborghini Urus Experiencing Major Software Bugs

Jan. 02, 2019 2:09 PM ET by Jay Traugott / 6 Comments Not even 'Lamborghini' is spelled correctly in the infotainment system. It's not usual for there to be some minor issues with a newly launched vehicle. Typically they are solved very quickly and with little to inconvenience to the owner. However, a Lamborghini Urus owner, @torontocarnut reached out to let us know about some troubling issues he's been having with the super SUV. It all started when he noticed 'Lamborghini' was spelled 'Lanborghini' in the infotainment system screen (see picture below). Not a huge deal but still kind of embarrassing for the automaker. The Toronto resident then reached out to his local Lamborghini dealership asking if there was a fix available, and was told bring in the SUV. He did so, something he's been regretting ever since.
Lamborghini Lamborghini Instead of correcting the spelling, a series of new problems arose following what was meant to be a relatively straightforward update. Here's a list of what stopped working: - Apple CarPlay no longer works over WiFi - Siri over Bluetooth now has an odd pop-up that you need to press to remove - Rear courtesy lights stopped working - Rear hatch door no longer works via the foot sensor - The steering wheel heater now has a cooling icon None of these issues existed prior to the update and, to add insult to injury, 'Lamborghini' is still misspelled. torontocarnut via Instagram torontocarnut via Instagram torontocarnut via Instagram @Torontocarnut, however, does not blame the dealership for the vehicle's coding issues. In fact, they even offered to replace his Urus, the red one pictured here, outright with a brand new one, but he refused. So, for now, this Urus, and potentially many more are being driven around with these software bugs unresolved. The owner was told it could take another couple of months to resolve. For an SUV with a starting price of over $230,000, you'd think Lamborghini would have figured all of this stuff out before sales got underway. But unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case. We've reached out to Lamborghini for comment and will update this space if and when we receive a reply. Lamborghini Lamborghini Lamborghini
