Baby Named After Highway Where She Was Born

Back in 2009, a UK couple was rushing to the hospital when their baby was delivered in the back of the grandmother's Kia. The couple named the baby 'Kia' and the automaker responded by gifting the couple a free car. Nearly a decade later, a couple in New York gave birth while driving on the Long Island Expressway (LIE for short). According to the New York Post, the baby, who was originally going to be named Aurora, was named Allie in honor of her birthplace. Get it? The letters L-I-E are in Long Island Expressway. Toyota Toyota Toyota Though Allie is a fine name, we think the couple missed out on an enormous opportunity. The couple was rushing to the hospital in their Toyota minivan and although we don't know what model year it was, perhaps Toyota would have given them a new one if they had named their daughter Sienna. Toyota recently gifted a new Tundra to the heroic nurse who saved several people in the California wildfires, so clearly, the company knows how to get good publicity from giving away a free car. Jokingly, this would have also been a great opportunity for the couple to rent an exotic supercar and name their daughter 'Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder.' After realizing they weren't going to make it to the hospital, the couple pulled over near the entrance to the Queens-Midtown Tunnel around 3:15 a.m. Luckily, Harry Persad, a police officer, and former emergency medical technician was there to help deliver the baby. "When the baby came out, the father and the mother were panicked because the baby wasn't crying," Persad said. The girl's nose and mouth were blocked by amniotic fluid, so he instructed the father to clear the blockage by sucking the baby's nose and mouth. Although it was likely a frightening experience, little baby Allie is happy and healthy. "She is a little miracle, a heavy little miracle," said the father, Ivan Albarracin. Toyota
