There' s Bad News About The 2020 Ford Bronco

Although Ford has yet to make it official, we suspect there's a good chance the all-new 2020 Ford Bronco will debut next month at the Detroit Auto Show. It's also possible the so-called 'baby Bronco' compact crossover will appear. Regardless, the Blue Oval has some major plans for its hometown show. And it's not only American off-road and SUV enthusiasts craving for that Bronco. Australia has a serious off-roading community as well and, according to Carsales.au, those enthusiasts Down Under are going to be disappointed. Ford Australia boss Kay Hart has confirmed the Bronco will not be adapted to right-hand drive. Ford "There's nothing to announce. There are currently no plans in place for right-hand drive Bronco," Hart said. The executive also clarified whether the Bronco or the baby Bronco will be sold in Australia. "Clearly it's going to be a great vehicle," Hard added. "But we are extremely happy with the performance of Ranger here. That's not to say we don't continually look at other products within Ford, but Ranger is doing such a fantastic job here." So basically, because the Ranger is kicking ass sales wise, there's simply no need for either Bronco. However, Australians do have access to the Ford Everest SUV, which is built on the same platform as the Ranger. If Ford doesn't intend to sell the new Bronco in Australia, then chances are a right-hand drive version also won't make its way to the UK. Ford Remember, Ford currently sells right-hand drive Mustangs in both markets, so a steering side conversion isn't without precedent. The Bronco will not be a rebadged Everest, as it will have its own unique and, we hope, somewhat retro styling inside and out. But what's also interesting is that last year Ford said the 2020 Bronco would be a "global" model. Apparently, that's no longer the case.
