This 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Looks Fresh Out Of The Factory

We're only a couple of months away from the much-anticipated debut of the 2020 Shelby Mustang GT500 at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2019. If, however, you can't wait for it to go on sale, a rare original Mustang Boss 429 is heading to auction the same month, and it's in practically pristine condition. It's nearly 50 years old, yet it looks fresh out of the factory. The Wimbledon White exterior is rust-free, while the Magnum 500 wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires. A contributing factor to this Mustang's immaculate condition is the fact it's only been driven a mere 18,000 miles since it left the factory in 1969. Sadly, this means it was probably left to gather dust in a garage for many years. With such a low mileage, it isn't surprising that the muscle car still has its original powertrain. Under the hood is 7.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 375 horsepower and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Mecum The classic pony car also comes equipped with a competition suspension and a Traction-Lok rear differential. Other performance features include a power steering system and power brakes with front discs. Inside, the Boss 429 is fitted with black vinyl seats and a three-spoke steering wheel and is adorned with wood trim, a passenger side clock and bright metal accents. It will be sold at the upcoming Mecum Auction in Kansas City this month. While you could buy a brand new Mustang Boss 429 continuation car for $209,000, this is the real deal. There's no sale price estimate, but it definitely won't be cheap since original Mustang Boss 429s are incredibly difficult to find since they were only produced in 1969 and 1970. Let's just hope the next owner takes it for a spin every now and then.
