Maserati Ghibli Nerissimo Shows The Luxury Sedan' s Dark Side

Maserati has turned to the dark side with its latest special edition. The Ghibli Nerissimo Edition is currently on display at the New York Auto Show and as its name implies (Nerissimo means "extremely black" in Italian), the luxury sedan has received a murdered-out makeover. The 20-inch Urano wheels are finished in gloss black, black touches can be found on the door handles, front grille and window trim, and there are black accents throughout the cabin. The special edition sedan also comes standard with blind spot assist, front and rear parking sensors, remote start and a Harman Kardon audio system for the Ghibli S and Ghibli S Q4 variants. The only other color worthy of note is red, appearing on the brake calipers, the contrast stitching and the gearshift paddles. As a purely aesthetic package, no changes were made to the engines, with the Ghibli S Q4 Nerissimo that's on display in New York featuring a Ferrari-developed 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 404 horsepower. Mated to an all-wheel-drive system, the Ghibli S Q4 can sprint to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Built exclusively for the North American market, only 450 Ghibli Nerissimo Editions are slated for production. Each will receive a center console-mounted badge indicating its build number. Pricing starts from $77,250, with the Ghibli S carrying a price tag of $84,000 and the Ghibli S Q4 $86,500. Also on display at the Maserati stand is the Quattroporte S Q4 GranSport, the GranTurismo Sport Special Edition and the Levante Ermenegildo Zegna Edition, which sports a beautifully finished cabin.
