The 707-HP Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Looks Mighty In The Metal

Having waited patiently for over a year, Jeep finally introduced the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk earlier this week. We couldn't wait to get up to close to the monster SUV and having just been presented to the world's press at the New York Auto Show, we can confirm that it looks even better in the metal. The Hellcat-powered SUV comes with the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 as the Charger and Challenger, with 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque at its disposal. Compare that to the Grand Cherokee SRT, which utilizes 475 hp and 470 lb-ft, and you can see the Trackhawk is in a league of its own. Despite weighing in at a hefty 5,363 pounds, Jeep is confident the Trackhawk will take just 3.5 seconds to reach 60 mph from standstill. And with a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph, you're looking at the fastest SUV ever. Power is sent to all four wheels via an upgraded eight-speed automatic transmission with an electric limited-slip rear differential, it comes with five different drive modes including Tow and Track, and a meaty set of Brembo brakes helps it stop from 60 mph in just 114 feet. Modest exterior enhancements include an extra air opening beneath the front grille, the fog lights have been replaced by air intakes, body-color flares cover a set of 20-inch wheels and there's a new quad-tip exhaust at the rear. Apart from a Trackhawk badge on the steering wheel and a speedometer that goes all the way to 200 mph, the cabin is lifted straight from the SRT.
