Does The World Need Yet Another Restomod Porsche 911

We've never hidden our admiration and, frankly, outright love for those Singer 911s, or more precisely, the Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer Vehicle Design. The attention to detail is incredible, as is the final price tag, which can easily balloon to nearly $500,000. Remember, each of those restomod 964-based 911s are custom-built to the owner's wishes. This market trend has inspired other 911 specialists to open shop, but is there such a thing as too many? We don't think so, especially after learning about Workshop 5001, courtesy of Drivetribe. Jethro Bovingdon (one of the best-sounding English name ever) flew to Los Angeles, which is also home to Singer, to see what Workshop 5001 is all about. Despite being a new business, Workshop 5001 is already making its mark in this very niche segment. One such example is its very first creation, a heavily reworked 1973 narrow body 911. From the outside, unlike a Singer creation with those sexy as all hell widened wheel arches, it looks mostly stock. But at its rear end lies a 3.4-liter flat-six producing over 300 hp. It also features a new suspension and a perfected body. Oh, and we love those steel wheels. It's so simple it's brilliant.
