BREAKING The Dodge Demon Coming With 909 HP

Throughout its never-ending teaser campaign, Dodge has been portraying the Challenger SRT Demon as the most hardcore muscle car ever made. Essentially, it's a demonic drag racer for the road. In other words, it will make the Hellcat before it seem tame by comparison. Its rumored power output suggested otherwise, however: 757-horsepower is hardly a substantial upgrade over the 707-HP Hellcat. Ahead of its reveal at the New York Auto Show, Dodge has now revealed the Demon's power output – and it doesn't disappoint. We won't keep you in suspense any longer. Dodge has swapped the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 in the Hellcat with a 6.6-liter supercharged V8 which produces a whopping 909-horsepower. 0-60 mph takes just 2.8 seconds compared to 3.1 seconds in the Hellcat. Officially, that makes the Dodge Demon the fastest muscle car in the world - not that we expected anything less, of course. Think of it like the Mercedes-AMG Project One and Aston Martin Valkyrie of muscle cars, a multi-purpose machine that can rip up the road, tear up the track and dominate the drag strip, thanks to the Demon crate of goodies that allow you to modify the muscle car on the fly. Now we just have to wait until the full reveal on April 14 at the New York Auto Show to see the Demon's design in all its menacing glory, though glimpses of it have already been seen in The Fate of the Furious which is conveniently being released the same day.
