We Just Found President Trump' s New Car And It Costs Less Than $10k

Mar. 29, 2017 6:00 AM ET by Jay Traugott For Sale / 15 Comments It's both brilliant and terrible. With everything going on about Russia's meddling in the 2016 US presidential election, it's almost as if the era of the Cold War is returning in some ways. To better get into that spirit, why not buy this 1989 Tatra 613, hand-built in the former Czechoslovakia specifically for the KGB. Somehow this car ended up in the US (Trump could use an extra limo) and now it's for sale on eBay, and it's ridiculously cool. For starters, it's powered by a rear-mounted (yes, seriously) air-cooled 3.5-liter V8, producing a mind blowing 200 hp, and paired to a four-speed manual. Basic mechanicals aside, the car is equipped with lots of KGB spy features, such as quick-disconnect magnet mounted roof police lights for undercover operations, hidden undercover sirens with Euro tones, and even a removable roof-mounted antenna. There's also a hidden kill switch. The service booklet and manual are in Russian, of course. Photos credit eBay The seller claims the car was thoroughly maintained by the KGB and only has 15,500 miles on its clock. There's no record of the Tatra being used for, say, elimination operations. More than likely, it was nothing more than a staff car, as per the description. Also, it went into service barely two years before the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, hence its good condition today. So, how much? As of this writing the top bid was $7,100, but there's still five days remaining for the auction. Photos courtesy of leaderribbon/eBay.
