The Rolls-Royce Ghost Elegance Has Paint Made From 1 000 Crushed Diamonds

Now get ready to see the swankiest. The automaker is renowned for making some of the most luxurious and elegant cars money can buy, but this one-off model takes it to a whole new level. Appropriately named the "Elegance," one wealthy collector commissioned their bespoke long-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Ghost to be coated in paint crafted from 1,000 crushed diamonds. This car will be on full display at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Rolls-Royce Rolls-Royce call this unique finish "Diamond Stardust," and describes it as "the most luxurious and lustrous exterior ever seen on a motor car." It probably isn't very surprising to learn that it's also the most expensive car paint job ever produced, though Rolls-Royce didn't specify the exact cost. The process took Rolls-Royce specialists two months to perfect, resulting in the creation of a fine diamond powder which was mixed into the paint. A unique paint process was then developed to add an extra layer of lacquer to protect the diamond particles during the polishing process, which took a further two days. Further distinguishing the Rolls-Royce Ghost Elegance are dual hand-painted coachlines in Mugello Red and Black. The same red is applied to the unique 21-inch wheels, as well as the interior which has been fitted with luxurious black leather with Mugello red stitching and piping on the seats, Tudor Oak veneer and a bespoke dashboard clock. And of course, no Rolls-Royce is complete without a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, which is uplit on the unique Ghost. The end result, Rolls-Royce says, is a car with a paint finish that "glistens like no other." Certainly, if you're looking for a car that showcases your wealth to the world, this is probably it.
