Three Off-Roading Legends Duke It Out In Desert Dune Drag Race

For example, you don't necessarily want to take a trio of bulky off-roaders to a track. You can, of course, and the resulting race would still be fun to watch. However, it's more fun when a vehicle is in its own element. This video from crankandpiston features a Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan Patrol (basically an Armada) and Mercedes-Benz G-Class 4x4 Squared duking it out in a desert drag race. But the objective here isn't to see which SUV is fastest in a straight line. No, the goal here is to drive as far up a dune as possible without getting stuck. The Mercedes has the clear advantage for several reasons. That doesn't mean it will be able to easily walk away from the Nissan and Toyota. Both the Patrol and Land Cruiser are legendary off-roaders unafraid of a massive sand dune. If you haven't already watched the video do so now before reading the next sentence. OK, all caught up? Good. Woah, the G550 4x4 Squared absolutely demolished the Patrol and Land Cruiser! We didn't want to give it away beforehand since the video was a great watch regardless of the outcome. In fairness the two losers made it pretty far up the dune despite lacking portal axles. Dune drag races may be our new favorite thing. We'd love to see the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 take on its little brother next.
