EcoBoost Ford Raptor Absolutely Destroys V8 Raptor On Drag Strip

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past year or so, you know that the new Ford F-150 Raptor no longer comes with a big V8 engine. In its place is a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6. The only bad part about this downsizing is that the Raptor loses the badass V8 burble it used to have. Power is up, with the new engine making 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. That's a sizable bump from the 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque made by the old V8 Raptor. Getting these two Raptors together on the track for a race produces a predictable outcome. The newer model wins handily. The interesting bit about this race, ran by The Fast Lane Truck, is the margin of victory. Everyone knows the Raptor as an off-roader, but the latest version is pretty capable on the drag strip. In this video a 0-60 mph time of 6.1 seconds is mentioned-it's in the second run that the time is quoted-which is really good for a truck not known as a speed demon. That's not a time to be ashamed of, even though we've seen a video in which the 2017 Raptor sprinted from a standstill to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds.
