Aston Martin And Red Bull Celebrate New F1 Season With Special Editions

To celebrate a new Formula One season Aston Martin has unveiled two new special edition Vantage S models. The V8 and V12 Vantage S Red Bull Racing Editions were created by the automaker's in-house customization firm, Q. Both offer exterior performance add-ons and some nice new interior touches. Power under the hood remains the same. The V8 Vantage S features a 4.7-liter V8 engine good for 430 horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque. Top speed is 190 mph. The V12 Vantage S packs a 565-horsepower V12 engine. Both can be had with a manual. There are three available paint options: Mariana Blue, satin Mariana Blue and Tungsten Silver. Carbon fiber aero bits include a front splitter, grille, side strakes and diffuser all made from the lightweight stuff. The grille can be bordered by either a yellow or red accent line and the brake calipers are also available in either yellow or red (we think yellow looks best). Inside there is Red Bull Formula One stitching on the headrests of the diamond quilted seats, carbon fiber trim inlays and a steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara. On the door sills buyers can choose to have either Red Bull F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo or Max Verstappen "sign off" on their special edition. No word on if Andy Palmer will be personally inspecting each car like he reportedly did with the DB11. Pricing and availability information was not given but deliveries are said to begin in the second quarter of 2017. Aston Martin and Red Bull came together to create the AM-RB 001 hypercar, so it's not surprising that the partnership between the two companies is bearing fruit in other areas. As far as special editions go, the V8 and V12 Vantage S Red Bull Racing Editions don't seem like they'll be uber-rare must-buys. Still, if Aston Martin doesn't charge an arm and a leg this could be a sweet appearance package (that's basically all it is) worth optioning. Aston Martin
