Joey Will Put The Ford GT Through Its Paces In Top Gear This Week

So far, Chris Harris has been the presenter of choice to tame the supercars in the current season of Top Gear. It's easy to see why – the man can simultaneously drive and talk better than anyone around. Last week we saw Harris putting the phenomenal Bugatti Chiron through its paces in Dubai, much to the envy of his co-stars Matt LeBlanc and Rory Reid. This week, the much-anticipated 2017 Ford GT will make its Top Gear debut to give European supercar makers a run for their money. So, who better to test it than Joey himself, Matt LeBlanc? The episode has already aired in the UK, but judging from the trailer it should be worth the wait when it airs on BBC America. We're confident LeBlanc will do the Ford GT justice from an American perspective as he thrashes it around glorious country roads and the iconic Laguna Seca circuit. His comments certainly indicate that it lived up to his expectations. LeBlanc describes the Ford GT as "the real deal" and is enamored by its "enormous" acceleration delivered by its twin-turbo, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine churning out 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. Elsewhere, this week's episode will finally settle which Top Gear presenter is the fastest driver in a grueling King of Hammers race between Chris Harris and Sabine Schmitz. The description says the pair had to "survive jumps, rocks, and team managers Matt LeBlanc and Eddie Jordan." For the first time this season, Chris Harris looks genuinely scared in the brief clip shown in the trailer. Has the driving god finally met his match? It should be yet another solid episode, but it's disappointing to see that Rory Reid won't feature in any of the main films yet again. Reid is easily the most underrated new presenter of Top Gear - we're eager to see him review a supercar.
